Indica eV2 Emax CNG GLS നിരൂപണം
Tata Motors recently showcased the eMax range of the Tata Indica hatch model at Horizonext in the month of June earlier this year. Now the company has officially rolled out the Tata Indica emax in two trim levels. Out of two variants, the Tata Indica V2 Emax CNG GLS is the base level variant and it has been priced at a very affordable cost. Currently, the company will be selling this emax range variants in only six states in the country such as Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Tripura. This particular CNG variant has been powered by one of the most fuel efficient engines, with petrol and CNG bi-fuel option. This Tata Indica emax GLS trim can deliver a peak mileage of about 23.7 Km/KG, which is class leading. This particular trim is the entry level variant in the model series and it blessed with very limited number of features inside like the existing LS base trim. The company retained the dual toned Sahara Beige and Ebony Black interior color scheme and covered the seats with partial fabric upholstery. Also this particular has been offered with an air conditioner, power steering system, fixed lumbar support for front seats and few other aspects.
Exteriors :
The exterior design of this new base emax variant of Tata Indica looks to be quite identical to the existing base variant in its model series. Although, not much of exterior features offered with this vehicle, it looks quite decent and simple. To start with the frontage, the company has decorated the front profile of this variant with motorized clear lens headlamps that surrounds the triple step design chrome tip grille. This radiator grille is beautifully decorated with the prominent company logo. Below this radiator grille there is a body colored bumper that is incorporated with a wide air dam along with a provision to incorporate fog lamps. The side profile of this hatch looks quite trendy where you can find that the doors are decorated with body colored door handles and ORVMs . Here the wheel arches have been fitted with 13 inch steel wheels that are covered with wheel covers. Coming to the rear profile, there is a sleek taillight cluster that is fitted on to the C-pillars. The size of the windscreen is very large and the boot lid is very expressive that adds to the style and elegance of rear profile. The body colored rear bumper has a very simple design and it can be fitted with the license plate. The overall look of this hatch is not quite ground-breaking, but still it looks trendy in the automobile market.
Interiors :
Coming to the interior cabin section, the company has bestowed a dual tone color scheme inside the cabin with Ebony Black and Sahara Beige color scheme. The dashboard inside the cabin has a very simple design and it is garnished in Ebony Black color scheme. The four spoke steering wheel inside the cabin too gets this Ebony black color scheme and it is beautifully decorated with the company logo. What truly is impressive about the interior cabin is its seating arrangement, which can provide seating for at least five passengers. These seats are wide, well cushioned and have been covered with partial fabric upholstery. The gear shift lever has been accentuated with silver ascents, which will enhance the feel. There are few other noticeable features you can observe inside the can such as tachometer, front cabin light with sport lights, air conditioner , parcel shelf and various other exciting features.
Engine and Performance :
The company powered this new base emax variant of Tata Indica with a reliable 1.2-litre, four cylinder based petrol power plant that comes with a total of eight valves and produces 1193cc of displacement capacity. This engine has the ability to produce a maximum power of about 64.4bhp at 5000rpm, while yielding a peak torque output of about 99Nm at just 2700rpm. However, in CNG mode, this engine produces about 56bhp of peak power and generates 90Nm of peak torque. The company has designed this engine with an SOHC valve configuration and incorporated with the MPFI fuel injection system, which makes it a reliable performer. Furthermore, the company has coupled this engine with a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox that distributes the torque to the front wheels and returns a maximum 23.7 Kmpl of unparalleled mileage.
Braking and Handling :
This hatchback comes with a highly efficient braking and handling system that makes it easy for the driver to steer the vehicle in any condition. The company has blessed this hatch with vacuum assisted, independent dual circuit, diagonal split hydraulic braking system that is assisted by a tandem master cylinder. This system will be assisting the ventilated discs fitted to the front wheels and drum brakes fitted to the rear wheels. On the other hand, its robust suspension system is another reason why the handling this hatch is very simple. Its front axle comes fitted with Independent, McPherson Strut type of suspension with lower wishbone. On the rear axle, the company has fitted the independent, semi-trailing arm loaded with coil spring mounted on hydraulic shock absorbers.
Comfort Features :
The new Tata Indica Emax CNG GLS trim is the base variant in the model portfolio and has been offered with a very few number of comfort based features. However, one should consider the exceptional drive comforts and overall quality that this hatch offers to the occupants inside. Coming to the features, this hatch comes with a list of features including a power steering system, an air conditioning system, power outlets in the front cabin, fixed lumbar support for front seats, 2-way adjustable front seat headrests , parcel shelf, front cabin light with spot light, tachometer and few other features.
Safety Features :
As far as the safety aspects are concerned, the new Tata Indica Emax CNG GLS trim comes incorporated with most of the basic and standard protective functions. Some of those safety aspects includes child safety lock on rear doors, 3-point ELR seat belts for front front seat passengers , collapsible steering wheel and high mount stop lamps. These features offer a minimum safety standards to the occupants inside the cabin.
Pros : Mileage is good, very affordable pricing.
Cons : outdated body style, comfort and safety standards needs to improve.
