Let's start with the positive aspects of the car. The car's appearance is absolutely stunning, and the dashboard is equally impressive. It provides a true sense of a premium hatchback. Additionally, the build quality is truly remarkable. I had a minor accident where my car collided with a truck, and surprisingly, it only sustained a single scratch. If it had been any other car, the damage would have been significantly worse. Let's talk about mileage and it's acceptable, I haven't particularly focused on comparing it to others. With a daily running of 90 kilometres, including 10 kilometres in the city and the remaining 80 kilometres on the highway, the car provides an average of around 18 km/l with the AC running. Now let's discuss one of the drawbacks I encountered with my Altroz. The after-sales service is extremely disappointing. Despite residing in Jaipur, I have visited nearly every service centre, and they have been far from satisfactory. I have previously owned a Hyundai i20, and the after-service experience with that car was exceptional in comparison. Allow me to share my personal experience over the span of 1.5 years and 30,000 kilometres with my Altroz. I have had to visit the service centre approximately 9-10 times within this period. Merely two months after purchasing the car, I faced an issue with the air conditioner. I visited three different Tata-authorized service centres in Jaipur, but the problem was only temporarily resolved each time. I had to repeatedly return to the service centre to fix the same issue. Ultimately, it took around 3-4 months to completely resolve the AC problem. Furthermore, the service costs are exorbitant. During my 5th paid service (at 30,000 kilometres), they charged me approximately 9,100 rupees for the service alone, without any new parts. They try to deceive customers by promoting additional products and insisting that purchasing them is necessary to maintain the warranty. This inflated cost is unjustifiable, especially considering that Altroz diesel models do not require such high expenses. Also, they fail to properly clean the car. Despite numerous service visits, there has consistently been dust on the rear seats, which is quite frustrating. The engine feels significantly underpowered, consistently lacking the necessary power compared to other cars in this segment.
