Quieter & smoother A 3.9-inch wheelbase extension smoothes out sharp ride motions and expands rear-seat legroom, it comes with 5.1 additional inches of space for stems in the back. The front seats are a significant improvement; the S model's bigger bolsters feel awfully soft for a ?sport seat,? but the entire range has added thigh, lumbar, and lateral support. This will make your journeys less punishing. The Corolla's traditional L, LE, and S models use a carry-over 1.8-liter twin-cam VVTi four-cylinder engine, which is rated at 132 hp. Efforts were made to minimize mass, but curb weight rises with the added length. You might anticipate a commensurate loss of performance, but the car feels a tad livelier. Credit the pair of new transmissions: a CVT for the shiftless, which offers a ?stepped seven-speed? function in S models, and a fresh six-speed manual. Clutch-pedal availability is limited strictly to frugal-minded buyers of the base L model or the indulgent experience seekers who opt for a nearly loaded S. On the road, the electronically managed CVT ?branded CVTi-S? banishes the usual drone of transmission, instead emulating the feel of a traditional automatic while being more efficient, quieter, and offering a better range of ratios. It's certainly among the best CVTs ever but can't mask the 1.8-liter's lack of low-rpm punch. Engaged drivers will prefer the new six-speed manual. The shift throws are long but crisp, and the clutch feel is good. Predictably but sadly, the pedals are so far to negate heel-and-toe downshifts; if you expected Toyota to let you find the brake and gas pedals with the same foot, you haven't paid attention in a long time.

    The ever green, ever reliable - Toyota Corolla Altis
    I have been a big fan of Toyota cars as I have been using them (Etios and Innova) for a long time now. In Oct 2016, my family wanted to purchase a D1 segment executive sedan. Below were our prime requirements, not in any particular order. 1. Reliability and low cost of ownership 2. Back seat comfort as the car will be chauffeur driven mainly 3. Petrol option as running will be < 1200 kms/month 4. Good build quality 5. Within a budget of 15 lacs Since reliability was a major factor so European manufacturer cars (Jetta, Octavia) were not considered. Renault Fluence and Chevrolet Cruze were also eliminated as there was no petrol engine option and they were pretty dated now. So we were left with 2 options: 1. Toyota Corolla Altis J+ 2. Hyundai Elantra S We had initially booked Elantra as it was a newly launched model and was better feature loaded than Corolla (comparing base variants). However, later on, concerns regarding new petrol engine and unavailability of the car within 1-2 months made us cancel it's booking. Since we were looking for petrol engine hence Corolla was being preferred over Elantra due to a more reliable engine which had more grunt in mid range. So we finally booked Toyota Corolla Altis (Champagne Mica color). Toyota dealer had the car in stock so me and my brother did a quick PDI of it and cleared it for further formalities. So our car was delivered in 1st week of October 2016. Though it's a base model variant but I personally think it covers all basic things (2 airbags, ABS+EBD, OEM music system with air gesture, height adjustable driver seat, reclining rear seat etc). This being a global car for Toyota, overall build quality is also very good (better than Innova and Fortuner which are more expensive than it). Interior plastics are also of good quality, especially the dash top which is soft. During the limited time period we had owned it, fuel efficiency we got is around 12 kmpl in city (bumper to bumper traffic) and 14 kmpl on highway. We know that it's going to be an ever-reliable family workhorse and Toyota's excellent A.S.S will be there to take care in case of any issue. It has been an absolute pleasure driving it or being driven !!

    Magic sedan
    Having sold 40 million units in over 150 countries, it would be an understatement to say that the Toyota Corolla is just another successful car model. The sedan was introduced in India back in 2003 and now the Japanese carmaker is set to launch the 11th generation, 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis in our country. And this isn't another run-of-the-mill facelift; the car represents Toyota's new, youthful design philosophy. The understated and sedate styling is pass now. The 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis not just looks a lot better than the outgoing model but also appears much more dynamic and contemporary. This, perhaps, is the most aggressive-looking Toyota Corolla Altis of all times. The front features a bold new 'T'design theme, created by the new swept back headlamps which merge into the front grille. The double barrel cluster headlights now get smart LED daytime running lights on the top-end variants. Sleek chrome garnish on the headlight and the large chrome grille add the premium touch to the front design. The long and wide bonnet, the acute angle of the windscreen and lower roofline gives the 2014 Toyota Corolla a low, sports-car-like profile with improved aerodynamics.

    Excellent car overall, yet lacking a few...
    I have been driving the New Corolla Altis 2014 (petrol) for 69000kms plus now. The car is excellent in cabin space in its class, be it the head room or the leg room compared to its rivals. The car is very smooth, great mileage can be achieved given how you drive and maintain the car timely. Driving the car is not too fun in high speeds and tight corners, it is more fun driving lazy and cruising on highways (under regulated speeds). The car holds its balance on the highway at curves quite firmly. Ride quality is excellent so far. The headlamps and tail lights have been designed so much more sexier than any other car in its segment which makes it completely stand out from the rest. It is very stylish bold and sleek.The 7" touch screen system is fairly good, but could have been better....it kind of feels like a low end quality system in terms of the display resolution and touch quality, though the audio sound is great. Reverse camera has a wide angle view in the touch screen, so while reversing in a busy traffic area it becomes fairly a breeze to reverse without much need to look around stressing your neck.Interior plastic quality feels cheaper than the previous generation of Altis. However, there are many improvements from the previous generation Altis like; looks smarter, sharper and more executive, larger interior space, fuel efficiency is better, better seating comfort, steering mounted answer and end call buttons and the better body colour options.It lacks rear row ac and thus can feel hot during very sunny days unless the ac is on full blower. But it does come with an added advantage of seating 3 people in the rear seat quite comfortable without much body squeeze. Toyota should have at least given optional to have ventilated seats, rear vent ac, sunroof. All in all it is a great car to own in its segment, I would say cost effective too.

    Toyota corolla Altis is a nice car but have a number of disadvantages in it like Bluetooth is of old technique i.e you have to stop your car for connecting it. The pickup Toyota is brilliant but with altis it seems different as pick up of this car is not so good. The genuine parts of the car are extremely of high prices The boot of the car has some issue in closing as the boot is only closed when pushed from the middle. Spending 16-20 lack is not worthy of it.

    Corolla Altis 1.8 GL
    To start of with the exterior, the front grill is something one cannot miss a glimpse.The design is minimal, with razor sharp character lines that highlight the generous length of the car. The chiseled chin, the daytime running lamp setup, the tail-section - everything looks neatly done. In particular the tail light section very much looks the same as that of Camry its elder bro up the line.To sum up the proportions for the Altis is spot on for a salon of its kind.As far as the interiors are concerned, getting inside and out with a knackered knee is not smooth.But once you settle down there is little complaints behind the steering wheel.There's a touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, electrically adjustable seats.The infotainment system with the Mirrorlink system is awesome.The back seaters won't complain about the space and one word that sums up is ample.Genuine leather quality makes the seating much more comfortable. But one thing that would have been for grab wud have been the ventilated seats atleast for the front seaters given our climate conditions.AC blower is superb and really does not bother the back seaters even if without the AC controls.The engine is responsive being a petrol one and ride quality is smooth.An impressive 175 mm ground clearance does not bother you about the odd rumblers on Indian roads.Overall pretty satisfied with the car and enjoy driving the same for years to come, how many can't say at the moment.

    No value for money and under power
    I dont know why people are going for Corolla Altis since it has no reasonable power and it is over priced. The main thing is that the same engine in Etios Diesel D4D 1.4 litter has been placed in Corolla Altis. The customer has to pay 21.5 lakh for this car. I do not understand what is the logic behind it. From customer point of view, it is purely fooling Indian customers. There is only 88.4 ps power in this car. Dear customers.... Please take a test drive before you buying this car i am sure you wont take this car.....             I dont know why people are going for Corolla Altis since it has no reasonable power and it is over priced.     The Penny Royce
    Some cars are bred to be Chauffeured. Although it would be barbaric to compare a Toyota Corolla with the undisputed king in its class, the Rolls Royce, still nonetheless it has more in common than what meets the eye. Especially when it comes to quality, engineering and design.I can understand that it would be difficult for you to relate but trust me I am saying with the perspective of having an exclusive experience with the car itself. And to acquainted, you would have to look closely the next time you are waiting for the valet to bring your car from the basement of a premium tavern after having your feast with your colleague or even your family perhaps. For which it arrives, the beast in pearl white, with its own sublimity up to the grand slopes of the entrance. At first you think that your vehicle has arrived but as it approaches, you suddenly realize that perhaps it is something more elegant.As you dare to stare into its dreary eyes would feel the finesse by which it prances towards you with its 1.8L heart pumping with pride and it's CVT transmission doing all the hard work with its slick shifts up the ratios. And to make things interesting the paddle shifters do a phenomenal job on open roads to keep the engine into its power band longer and experience one hell of a backlash.You would irresistibly try too glace past the windows but the reflection from the vivid lights from the reception makes it so more difficult. But suddenly, you are embraced by the guard who open the gates for the heritor and you are blessed by the piano black dash with plush leather seats inviting you to the heavens with its misty blue hue on its dashboard. By now you would have already become so desperate and perhaps even frustrated for not being in a Toyota showroom for you would have been able to take the pleasure of being in one.The doors are firmly closed by the chaperone and it does with a satisfying thud which reflects the quality and the hours put into its design. And it leaves with serenity without attracting too much superfluous attention. The valet disturbs you and you realize that your vehicle has come around too without anybody perceiving it, especially you. Perhaps it's time to buy something grand you think.
