Maruti has always been a most trusted company by Indian users on the grounds of reliability, maintenance and economy. Wagon R is one such car which is loved by most of the middle-class Indian families and is still a favourite amongst all its competitors. After its introduction in the year 2000, many units have been sold and the reliability of the company is depicted when even now some cars from the production year are seen on roads. Exterior:- Maruti has come a long way in styling and designing of the car. The exterior features a stylish front chrome grill with the signature "S" badge of the company followed by the so-called 'Blue-eyed' sporty headlamps. The top end variant features fog lamps which nicely engross the body coloured front bumpers of the car. Sideline is high and a design line runs through both the wheel arches of the car. The rear of the car bears a chrome grill with the name 'Wagon R' written on it. A combination of sportier taillights and rear fog light are some key features on which the company has worked upon since the last production. Interior and Features:- The car in its initial production years was unable to cope up with the competitors on the interior parts. The company hence worked upon the interiors of the car and the current production car lacks nowhere in this criteria. The car features a Dual tone beige coloured interior with new seat and door trims. The design of the centre console is improved and the new instrument display cluster is mesmerising! The gear knob compliments the interior with a sporty black finish. USB and Auxillary inputs are also available in the top end variant. One thing the company has really improved is the sound and audio system the car features. Oh! it's just WOW! The sound is crisp with an appropriate amount of bass and treble. The car is very spacious and airy with a large windscreen and windows.The rear seat has enough leg room and head room and three can easily fit without any hustle or bustle with front seat pulled back to an extent. Engine and Performance:- The car features a 1000CC(approx.) engine with a 5 - speed manual gearbox which very efficiently delivers all the required power to the car making it a very punchy and fun car to drive. The car is a little hesitant to make way through slower speeds but once it touches a 40 km/h mark , you will be shifting gears up in no time! The rectangular shape of the car won't allow you to run through corners at speed but after all, it was designed to be a family hatchback, not a Ferrari 458. Final Verdict:- The car is the best suited for a family or a college student. With very low maintenance costs and the companies reliability, the car comes feature packed at a budget price and a punchy engine makes it a real fun to drive , be it long trips or a general day to day commute purposes.
