Fifteen years is a long time for a car especially in India to continue the legacy. Where crossovers are knocking each other for space, Mahindra's most popular SUV, Scorpio is still ruling the streets. Purchased the new Scorpio three months back and performance wise, I must say it's a big thumbs up. The newly introduced mHawk 140hp diesel engine gives a new lease of life to this vehicle. The engine has also fixed the long-standing issue of grunting sound which was a trouble for many buyers. The chassis in the 2014 model has also been worked upon to improve its behaviour on roads. In terms of looks, it is still the attention grabber and retains its traditional and butch stance. Inside, the thing I missed is the Apple CarPlay and Android support on the touchscreen infotainment, which is rapidly becoming a norm nowadays. So Mahindra should have seriously addressed this issue. Overall, for Scorpio lovers, the extra sting in the tail, i.e. improved performance will not prevent them from buying this old-school SUV.
