My loved Ecosport!

Great feeling is driving this one of a kind machine - solid built, smooth drive, posh interiors, proper controls and royal, distinct looks, rather killer looks, I would say. My first sense of distress in the new vehicle came when I found it little difficult to have a sense of extremities (front side edges) of the vehicle, due to the high, SUV structure. This makes it little difficult to make close manoeuvres on typical busy streets. But then, this vehicle is probably not designed to be one like that, as the name suggests - Ecosport!. Having the option, it's prudent to ride on a smaller car inside city traffic. Happy with its gracious ground clearance. Ideal for cruising across highways. Some more details!   Keeps you comfortable and feeling safe in many possible ways - comfortable bucket seats, excellent audio system, convenient, smooth steering controls, safety features, etc. Instantaneous fuel consumption indicator helps you develop the habit for efficient driving. I found it showing optimum mileage for speeds between 40 - 60 km/hr Distance to Empty indication keeps you assured when travelling to distant places.Average fuel consumption indicator is another plus point for keeping with the economy.   Latching into the reverse gear is sometimes not so easy and requires conscious attention. Otherwise, it is not entirely locked in position and causes the typical gear squeaking sound letting the heart rate go up for fear of damaging the clothes. The AC is good and cools quickly. The air temperature and air flow controls work very well.   The marvelous 'SYNC' system is equipped with advanced voice recognition system. This system helps you control many features using voice commands. This allows you to keep hands on the wheel and focus on what is in front of you. The Bluetooth pairing of the smartphone helps you to focus on to driving while using the speech to control functions like - dialing a number, enjoying talking to your loved ones with speakerphone on is the great entertainer. Haven't yet tried the Ford Applink app on the android phone.   The steering tilt and height control are a necessity for the family, helping everyone to adjust as per the individual need. The gear shift is smooth and comfortable.   Being an engineer, with a close eye for details and perfection, I may comment on some finer aspects and consequent improvements required.  1. location of the start button, behind the steering, is rather inconvenient. 2. observed during the first service itself that the silencer is beginning portion joint weld joint showing rusting (during the summer season, before the rains. The vehicle had yet to see any water/ moisture/ mud for the longer duration.  3. The service needs improvement to be pro-active. Lost the electronic key, sent the info to the service centre/ workshop manager, but haven't got the quotation requested for the electronic and mechanical key lock set, even after few months and 2-3 reminders! Small issue at their end but must improve.
