Chevrolet Beat a sporty hatchback is another major launch by GM in the country after the Chevrolet Cruze which was received very well by the Indian Buyers. The Beat is the best looking small car in its segment and has some striking design elements both in the exterior and the interior. It is available in the market in petrol, diesel and the LPG variant. The petrol variant is powered by a SMARTECH II engine, equipped with Port Deactivation technology, dual overhead cam and EGR. This 1197cc engine churns out a maximum power of 61bhp and a maximum torque of 160Nm. The diesel variant is powered by a 1 Liter XSDE SMARTECH 3-cylinder Common Rail Diesel engine that produces a 57bhp@4000rpm and 150Nm of torque at 1750rpm. This diesel engine is extremely fuel efficient and delivers a mileage of 25.44kmpl and therefore the Beat diesel is the most fuel efficient car in the 2012. The engine of the car is mated with a 5 speed gearbox with manual transmission that readily falls into hand. The car is equipped with many advanced safety and comfort features which include ABS, dual SRS airbag, Halogen headlamp, fog lamp etc. in the infotainment section the car has an IntegratedAudio System with 4 speakers and antenna in the top end variants.
