Ford Aspire Waited For A Year For The 2018 Model

Competition in the Indian auto market reaches new heights whenever a car launches. Last year I decided to buy a compact sedan as I am quite fond of them and also they are easily available under Rs. 10 lakhs. There were several choices and it was pretty hard for me to ignore deals such as Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze and Volkswagen Vento. Though Koreans and Japanese has a good say in the Indian car market, American automakers such as Ford is known for its quality. The only option in my hand besides mentioned above was the Ford Aspire which just recently got handsome makeover inside and out. I always like Ford cars and when the car maker launched its first compact sedan in 2015 in the form of Ford Aspire, it really took the market by storm. My maternal uncle purchased the car looking at its cool feature list and aggressive styling. I too liked the car very much but can't afford the one at that time. But just last year when I planned to buy a compact sedan, I heard the news that Ford is going to give its Aspire sedan a major overhaul within a year. So I planned to wait for a year than give it a shot because car buying for most is a one-time decision, especially for salaried professionals like me. Now, finally the car maker has launched the car and I have recently visited the showroom and took a test drive. So, I will be sharing what's been improved in the newer model. First of all I would like to say that the design and style with respect to a sub-4 meter car is excellent. It seems the car maker has done a tough job. The vehicle looks more grown up with sophisticated headlamps and new grille design. The car maker has also paid heed to the feedbacks regarding small wheels in the earlier version which has now been replaced with a classy set of 15 inch wheels. Inside, there is familiar dual-toned dashboard but the major and the most demanding change is the addition of 6.5 inch touchscreen infotainment with Ford Sync 3. The touchscreen is slick in operation and what makes it more interesting is the inclusion of Android Auto and Apple Car Play. The connectivity has also improved with new Bluetooth system and additional USB slot. The car also gets extra chrome and the overall look and feel has been improved. The car comes with standard dual airbags while the top of the line variant can be availed with 6 airbags. And this is something takes this car on par with the segment above cars. In terms of engine, the older 1.2L 4-cylinder has been replaced by new 1.2L 3-cylinder unit which is working in Freestyle crossover. The Dragon engine makes 96PS which is definitely more powerful than 88PS of the earlier version. Besides, there is also a new 1.5L engine that now packs more power at 123PS, this is the same Dragon unit that powers EcoSport. But I will be choosing the 1.2L version as it is more than enough for me and also it will give more mileage than the 1.5L engine. I also test drove the car and I think maneuvering the car in the city is breeze with strong and sustained surge of power. So, this is all about the new Ford Aspire, I have booked the car and I am getting this in a week. Hope you liked this short review.
