Ford India is a fully owned subsidiary of the American car major Ford Motor Company. Ford at present is the largest car manufacturer in the country after Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, Mahindra and Chevrolet. Ford launched this car in the Indian market in September, 2009. The sales of Ford Figo increased the overall sales of the company by 184% in 2010. The overall sales of the company reached to 83,887 in 2010 against 29,488 in 2009. The sales of the Ford Figo exceeded 76,000 units since its launch in March 2010, which has a significant effect on the overall sales growth of the company. But seems like this is not the end, the sales of Ford Figo has continued to increase in 2011. As per reports given by the company it is said that the sales of Figo hatchback tripled in the month of February, 2011. It is expected that the Indian car market will grow rapidly in the coming years and it seems like Ford has prepared itself to capitalize the growth.
