Figo 2010 2012 Diesel EXI നിരൂപണം
What Ford Figo is to Ford Motors in India, the Figo diesel is to the model itself. The Ford Figo diesel flaunts audacious as well as soothing colors that include Colorado Red, Squeeze, Moon Dust Silver, Sea Grey, Panther Black, Chill and Diamond White. The Ford Figo flaunts a length of 3795mm which is more than the length of the Hyundai i10 Kappa, Maruti Swift, Maruti Ritz and Chevrolet Beat. Maintaining the width of 1680 mm near to the above mentioned models, Ford Figo is the smallest of all the cars with the height of just 1427mm. The car however, sweeps all the other cars off their feet with the highest ground clearance of 2489 mm; it also has a fair boot space of 284 liters.
The outsides of the Ford Figo Diesel EXI are well proportioned and simple looking, but the overall projection of the car is not so plain. On the front end the car boasts of angular headlights, petite and sleek chrome grille that bears the Ford logo in the centre. The car also sports fog lamps in trapezoidal enclosures that flank the big black air duct that bears the license plate. The low set front window sill and the tapering roof toward the rear catch the eye from the side profile; the car has traditionally fit indicators near the front doors in place of the voguish indicators in the ORVMs. The rear end of the car boasts of rectangular straight taillights and sharp lines.
The interiors of the car are said to be more comfortable than its arch rivals Maruti Swift and Hyundai i10. The Ford Figo diesel EXI sports day/night inside rear view mirror, cupholder in front central console, power windows on the front, fabric inserts on the door trims, a parcel tray that is removable, a 12V front power point, vanity mirror on the sun visor of the passenger seat and foldable grab handles with coat hooks in the rear part.
Engine & Performance
Hustling proudly under the hood of the Ford Figo diesel is the company’s most applauded 1.4 L Duratorq diesel engine that also powers the company’s sedans Ford Ikon and Ford Fiesta. The engine involves 8 valves in the SOHC mechanism . There are 2 valves per cylinder and the fuel system incorporated in this engine is the common rail. Ford Figo 1.4L Duratorq engine generates a peak power of 68bhp@4000 rpm with a torque yield of 160Nm @ 2000 rpm.

The frugal and excessively fuel efficient high performance 1.4 L diesel engine is capable of churning out a peak power of 68bhp at 4000 RPM and a peak torque of 160Nm at 2000 RPM. Coupled with a 5 speed manual gearbox the engine ensures a great driving experience.

The safety features included in the car range from 3 point seatbelts for front & rear seats to lap strap for rear centre passenger , dual tone horn and laminated glazed windscreen. The car also supports intelligent central locking and smart programmable keyless entry, child safety locks and most importantly an Engine Immobilizer (PATS) that restricts the engine from starting through illegal attempts like a duplicate key.
Braking & Handling
This aspect of the car is as impressive as the others with ventilated disc brakes affixed in the front and drum brakes affixed in the rear end. Handling of the car is fairly well with 175/65 R14 Radial/Tubeless tyres and Hydraulic power assisted steering wheel and a minimum turning radius of around 4.9 m. The front suspension of this car is independent McPherson strut with dual path mounts whereas the rear suspension is the semi-independent twist beam with coil springs.
Comfort
The features that make the car take on the likes of its rivals include the air conditioning system with an inbuilt heater, a power steering, opening for remote fuel filling and electric mechanism for opening the boot. The instrumentation of the Ford Figo Diesel EXI includes the digital odometer and tripmeter, warning for the low fuel as well as the door ajar, a chime reminder for the headlamp on, an indicator that show water level in fuel and lastly an indicator that flashes the distance that can be traveled before the fuel tank goes empty. However, the AM/FM radio and CD player is absent in the car.
