ഫാബിയ caught fire while driving

Look and Style: Looks great compared to other hatchbacks and the quality of materials also good.   Comfort: The engine is very noicy and the AC blower too very noicy. Otherwise comfortable to drive.   Pickup: Great pick up even with AC on.   Mileage: In city get an average of 15km/l and on highways get 20+   Best Features: Pick up and high torque   Needs to improve: After sales service sucks. Also after 3 years high maintenance costs.   Overall Experience:My car was 1.4 TDI Ambiente. Just after 5 years, while driving, the car caught fire in the middle of city. Smoke noticed and drove a little distsnce to find a parking, by this time smoke turned into fire and the people around shouted to get out. Some one called the fire force and before the diesel tank caught fire the fireforce brought down the fire. Probably the aircon motor caused the fire, as with AC some burning smell noticed initially. Skoda was not interested to find the cause of fire, since the warrenty was over. Expected a European company would do a root cause analysis. Engine completely burned out and I had to scrap the car for Rs 80K. Only good thing, the central lock did not fail, while the boot lock failed. Children and wife safely escaped through the doors.
