It doesn't take much of time to stumble upon this cute piece of muscle, especially if rugged looks are your type. Not all hatchbacks and small cars make you drool over their looks in terms of sturdiness, blame their practicality or price cap they come for. Yet, the KWID when it rolls on the streets, it can make crossover lovers go weak in their knees. Hop-in inside the AMT cabin, turn the circular knob right & there you go. Out of curiosity did I visit the Renault showroom for a test-drive of this mini-ride after having driven my friend's KWID multiple times. Must say, the intention behind the visit wasn't purchase-oriented but the experience of the car almost led to the conversion. The showroom's sales executive recommended the Automatic variant of the car to me & despite having not driven an automatic car ever before, without a slight instant of hesitation did I nod to test it out. With the assistance from the sales executive, I took the car out of the showroom premises and steered it out on the main road. Something not worth ignorance was happening to me as I drove and suddenly I experienced the feeling intensifying. It was none other than the pleasure of driving this car ! The pleasure grew over me much enough to persuade me to maneuver the vehicle towards the Mumbai-Pune Expressway that lay parallel to the service-road where we were driving. And boy, the car regardless of its small size, makes the driver feel tailored for comfort-driving on the Indian roads !..Be it the commanding view from the SUV inspired-design of the car's bonnet or the ease of driving the automatic engine just using a button-knob or sleekly muscular structure with a tough chassis or the high-ground clearance with robust alloys that make potholes feel inches shallower- KWID wins your heart the very moment you complete a drive ! The only factor which can rob a brownie point of this car's rating is the interior. At this stage of performance & response, the face-lifted version of the car certainly should have been rolled out with better dual-tone or premium single-tone interiors. The plastic on the dashboard had more scope of improvement & couldn't have been made much better than what it is now.
