Manufacturing Crank Shaft Defect In Santro

Dear friends, I have recently purchased a Santro 2007 model with lots of joy and happiness. At the time of purchase, the vehicle reading is 77000 km. After a few days, I got serious problems like a drastic drop in pickup and mileage and self start problem. I have gone to the Hyundai service point for repair. They gave an estimation for 3500 rupees for timing gears replacement. I agreed and left the car for repair and I am happily waiting for delivery of car but suddenly I got a phone call from Hyundai service point for giving information that crankshaft end on which timing gear sits, got damaged so need to replace crankshaft along with some other parts interlink with the crankshaft. The estimation is 75000. I got a heart attack virtually. Then I said no need to repair return my vehicle. I got a reply that u car won't start, u can take with help of towing vehicle. Then with the help of a local mechanic, I have shifted my car to a known roadside repair shop. The mechanic is known to me. I told him about the problem . He said it is common and manufacturing defect in Santro from 2004 model and got welded the crankshaft end and replaced timing gear wheel, finally he handed over my car to me with service charges less than 5000.
