    Electric cars run only on electricity from battery. It can't run on petrochemical fuels because the design is totally different. No gears, just a motor. But run time electric cars are cost efficient than petrol, however one time cost is pretty high today. Down the line, as Lithium polymer batteries develop Electric cars will become cheaper, so it's recommended to buy electric cars 4-5 yrs from now.
